DevOps Engineer – Datadog SME

D|OPS Digital is involved to support Subject Matter expertise of Datadog, support on-boarding of the new applications and migrations of applications to the new MVP site. The work is defined in backlog to be delivered in sprints. There are daily stand-ups, weekly catchups and retro meetings to understand progress.

You will be responsible for spreading knowledge, ideas and applied implementation skills needed to improve software delivery and runtime performance. In this role you will be supporting three workstreams:

  • AWS / Azure / GCP migrations to newer versions
  • Datadog implementation
  • Vault implementation

 

Responsibilities:

  • On-boarding of the new applications into Cloud
  • Migrations of applications to the new MVP site
  • Automation & Integration tasks
  • Make recommendations for improvements to existing architecture

 

Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of CI/CD principles and practices
  • 3+ years of experience configuring and managing infrastructure (Terraform)
  • Working knowledge with Cloud Technologies
  • Working knowledge with monitoring tools (Datadog, Splunk)
  • Experience with writing SIEM policies
  • Working knowledge with scripting languages (Python)
  • Working knowledge with Git
  • Experience working with centralised configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef and/or Puppet)
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (IP, TCP, UDP, load balancing, etc.)
  • Basic VMWare virtualisation knowledge
